At Metro Atlanta Ambulance, we are committed to not only providing life-saving care but also supporting initiatives that promote health and wellness in our communities. This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we unveiled two specially decorated ambulances to help spread the message about the importance of early detection and annual breast exams.
Raising Awareness on Every Call
The two ambulances, adorned with pink ribbons and messaging dedicated to breast cancer awareness, are not only a tribute to survivors and those fighting breast cancer but also a mobile reminder of the critical importance of regular screenings. These vehicles will serve our communities throughout the year sparking conversations and encouraging action wherever they go.
“Our ambulances are often seen as a beacon of hope during emergencies,” said Devan Seabaugh, Vice President of Metro Atlanta Ambulance. “By using them to promote breast cancer awareness, we hope to turn those moments into opportunities for education and prevention.”
The Importance of Annual Exams
According to the American Cancer Society, early detection through regular screenings and mammograms significantly improves survival rates for breast cancer patients. Annual exams, along with self-examinations and awareness of risk factors, can make a life-saving difference.
“We want to emphasize that prevention and early detection are key,” Seabaugh added. “Our goal is to remind every woman that her health is her most valuable asset, and we stand with her in the fight against breast cancer.”
Supporting Our Community
In addition to the awareness campaign, Metro Atlanta Ambulance is partnering with local healthcare providers and organizations to distribute educational materials about breast cancer prevention and resources for affordable or free screenings. By reaching out to underserved communities, we hope to reduce barriers to care and save lives.
