Marietta, Ga. June 3, 2008 – Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service, a local 9-1-1 and non-emergency ambulance services provider to the greater-metro Atlanta area is proud to announce that it has been named one of Cobb County’s Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Businesses were nominated earlier this year, and after a review by an independent panel of judges, MetroAtlanta Ambulance was selected as one of the Top 25 companies. Candidates were evaluated based on the criteria published by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Those criteria include staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales or unit volume, current and past financial standing, innovative products and services, response to adversity, evidence of contributions to aid community projects and overall management philosophy.
MetroAtlanta Ambulance is Georgia’s designated 9-1-1-ambulance provider for Cobb County including the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta and Smyrna. MetroAtlanta Ambulance also provides contract interfacility ambulance transportation to 17 hospitals throughout Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gilmer and Pickens Counties.
MetroAtlanta Ambulance is one of only 113 EMS providers in the world to receive accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services, signifying they meet the highest quality standards as determined by the EMS industry.

The Top 25 were recognized at the Cobb Chamber’s First Monday Breakfast on June 2.
