Local Cobb County State Representative's Steve Tumlin and Matt Dollar sponsored legislation creating a prestige license plate for Georgia's EMTs and Paramedics. The plates, which will be available in January 2006 to licensed Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics, will display the EMS star of life symbol, the recognized symbol of emergency medical services throughout the nation. Devan Seabaugh, Vice President of Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service and Chairman of the Georgia Association of EMS Legislative Committee, presented a draft bill to Representative Tumlin last session and Tumlin along with Representative Matt Dollar eagerly agreed to sponsor it through the legislative process.
Seabaugh stated, "It's a well deserved tribute to the dedicated EMTs and Paramedics in Georgia that work around the clock to ensure we as citizens receive Emergency Medical help whenever we need it. I really appreciate Representative's Tumlin and Dollar for agreeing to sponsor the bill for these folks and more so for their seeing that it made it through the legislative process during the session last year."
